Mr. Martins stormed out of his house angrily, infuriated by the wife's action. Strolling out without actually knowing where he can go to deflate his anger. He found himself at the nearby recreation center, he was lucky to find himself a seat at the extreme corner where he sat quietly and observed activities. To his amazement, families were together in joyous mood, children played with their parents and couples played together smiling to one another with their kids.
He said to himself," I wish I and my wife and my child were one of these couples. How can I get here? He asked. Instead of peace and joy, there has been ceaseless contentions, arguments, insults,disagreements,etc. When shall I ever get along with my wife? Today is 25th of December, I must not continue like this. Next year must not meet me and my home in this condition.I must do something very fast." He immediately left for his house.
Meanwhile, the wife has prepared herself with her jeans trousers well kitted in readiness for any eventuality. She sat waiting for the worst. In her words" if this marriage will crash, let it crash I dont care." MARTINS walked in and stood before her for some seconds, she looked at him from head to toe, hissed and threw her face the other way.
Martins went on his knees, grabbed her two hands and said "Honey please forgive me for all the pains I've caused you in this house. From henceforth I will love and cherish you and we shall build this home together." She looked into his eyes and saw a different Martins. She concluded in her heart, "this is the man I've been desiring to have as a husband", she fell on his neck and tears began to flow freely down her cheeck. She repeatedly said "darling, I' am sorry." It took Martins half an hour to consoled the wife.
The aftermath of this encounter was an example of a blissful home. Martins marriage was the envy of the community. Many in the community do visit Martins and the wife to ask them about the secrets of their peaceful home. He also speaks in churches on marital success. Not only that, Martins and the wife became conferences' speaker on marriage issues. "My secrete is traced to OUR RESOLVE to keep the Divine precepts on marriage as captured in the holy book. EPHESIANS 5: 25-33". Those were his words as he concluded his speech at one of the conferences.
